Changes to the Research and Development Structure Effective April 1, 2025 —Aiming to Achieve Vision 2035 (Long-term Vision)
April 24, 2025
GS Yuasa Corporation
GS Yuasa Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6674) has implemented changes to its research and development ("R&D") structure as of April 2025 to achieve its Vision 2035. With the goal of “we strive for innovation in energy technology, endeavor to address the challenges facing society through the development of mobility and other public infrastructures, and seek to create comfortable living environments and play our part in the global effort toward sustainability.”—the ideals we aim to embody by 2035—the strengthened R&D framework will accelerate our research and development efforts and enable us to create new value that will serve as a foundation for the future.

Aim of Organizational Change
We have previously conducted research and development through two divisions: "R&D Center" and "LIB Technical Center". In light of the increasing importance of batteries in addressing social challenges, and in order to accelerate innovation in energy technologies, we have now integrated "LIB Technical Center" into "R&D Center".
This integration allows us to concentrate our development resources, accelerate existing R&D efforts, and establish a system that promotes pioneering and innovative technology development for new businesses and products. By accumulating and sharing results, technologies, and challenges across mid- to long-term R&D themes, we aim to break away from conventional ideas, foster the creation of new technologies and seeds for future businesses, and further enhance our corporate value.
We will leverage these R&D achievements to create new businesses and generate additional corporate value.
In addition, we have also established a new department dedicated to the development of carbon-neutral technologies. This division focuses on advancing CO₂ separation and capture technologies to help address one of society’s pressing challenges—reducing carbon emissions—as well as developing lithium-ion battery recycling technologies, which are essential for resource reuse and environmental protection. By leveraging these R&D activities, we aim to create new businesses and generate additional corporate value.
