GS YUASA OPEN 2023 to be held for the first time in 4 years

From September 19 to 24, the GS YUASA OPEN 2023 ITF World Tennis Tour W25 Kyoto, a women's professional tennis tournament for which GS Yuasa is a special sponsor, was held at the Kyoto City Gymnasium.
This was the first time in four years since the 2019 tournament was held that it was cancelled due to the pandemic of covid-19.

This tournament is officially recognized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Japan Tennis Association (JTA) as a gateway to international competition for women tennis players, and we have supported this event since 1990*.

The tournament was hotly contested, with Sofya Lansere winning the singles title and the doubles pair of Aoi Ito and Tsao Chia-Yi winning the doubles title.

GS Yuasa has continued to promote sports culture by sponsoring sporting events such as the Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon and the Emperor's Cup National Wheelchair Ekiden Race, as well as sponsoring professional golfer Mao Saigo and Kyoto Sanga F.C. We will continue to contribute to the promotion of sports culture and the development of local communities through these activities.

*From 1990 to 2003, sponsorship was provided by GS Yuasa's predecessor, Japan Storage Battery Co., Ltd.
