Commencement of Joint Demonstration with Osaka Gas Using a Storage Battery Facility with Power Conditioner – Compatible with the energy management system provided by Shizen Connect Co., Ltd. –
September 25, 2025
GS Yuasa Corporation
GS Yuasa Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6674; “GS Yuasa”) has commenced a joint demonstration (“the Demonstration”) using a lithium-ion storage battery facility with a power conditioner (“the Storage Battery Facility” or “this Storage Battery Facility”) today, which is scheduled to go on sale from October this year, based on the joint demonstration agreement signed with Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. in May 2024.*1

In this Demonstration, a prototype of this Storage Battery Facility has been installed on Osaka Gas premises. The two companies will conduct the verification of multi-use operation for multiple electricity market trading, as well as the verification of optimal operation control patterns which leverage the performance and characteristics of the storage batteries, and the verification of the facility's operation.
In addition, coinciding with the start of this Demonstration, GS Yuasa has completed integration with the energy management system “Shizen Connect ” provided by Shizen Connect Co., Ltd. (“Shizen Connect”), one of Japan’s leading VPP platform providers.
To effectively utilize storage battery facilities in electricity markets and other applications, collaboration with aggregators that operate distributed power resources is essential. By linking with the platform provided by Shizen Connect, smoother system integration with a greater number of aggregators can be expected.
The product targeted by this Demonstration has the PCS panel and storage battery panels separated, enabling flexible responses to site constraints such as narrow spaces, and is applicable across a wide range of stationary storage applications including grid use, co-location with renewable energy, and customer-side installations.
By providing storage battery facilities that combine safety and sustainability, GS Yuasa will contribute to the construction of the next-generation electric power network in which renewable energy serves as a main power source, as targeted by the Japanese government.

Features of the storage battery facility with PCS
1. High degree of freedom in terms of locations of installation
Transportation, carrying-in, and installation work can be performed for units of PCS panels and storage battery panels, and no large cranes are required for installation.
Compared to the large container-type storage battery facilities that have become mainstream in recent years, this system offers much greater flexibility when it comes to the selection of the installation site, including in terms of transportation routes used at the time of installation, and can be installed in narrow areas.
2. High degree of freedom in terms of facility design
Flexible design support is possible by increasing or decreasing the quantity of storage battery panels according to the required storage battery capacity.
